"Sensor-Tech", together with the Support Foundation for the Blind and Deaf "Con-nection" and NIVEA company, presented 10 "smart" assistants Robin to visually impaired beneficiaries of the Foundation at the annual meeting of the "Con-sent" Association. About 80 blind and deaf-blind individuals from all over Russia gathered here.
"I believe that Robin will help me navigate better and handle tasks. I am very grateful for this gift and I can't wait to try it", said Anton Yastrebov, Chairman of the Board of the Bryansk Rehabilitation Club for Disabled People "New Look".
After the ceremonial presentation, the "Sensor-Tech" team spoke about the Lab and all its projects. Participants asked dozens of questions about our activities, and everyone was interested in learning about the future of science and technology in the field of inclusion.
"We are very pleased that thanks to our founder and NIVEA company, the blind and deaf-blind have the opportunity to receive Robins. New technologies can change a person's life, and our task is to ensure that the blind and deaf-blind can rely on our gadget, so that Robin helps them every day", said Denis Kuleshov, Director of the Lab.
"Sensor-Tech" specialists brought their developments to the meeting and conducted a workshop on their usage. Among them were: ELVIS V neuroimplant, "Charlie" speech recognition device, Soundball, electronic ball for visually impaired athletes, and SMW Patch, smart video magnifier for visually impaired individuals. There was great excitement around the ELVIS V neuroimplant, which will restore vision to the blind.
Throughout 2023, as part of our collaboration with NIVEA, we will distribute 110 Robins to individuals with hearing and vision impairments. Here's what Natalya Sokolova, Executive Director of the "Con-nection" Foundation, said about it: "This is part of our big project. Thanks to the long-standing partnership between the Fund and NIVEA, 110 people with hearing and vision impairments will be able to use this device in their daily lives".
